Design and Materials

The UC-X12 is designed for durability in marine environments. Its high-quality silicone material resists water and UV exposure, allowing it to withstand harsh maritime conditions. Lightweight and dark gray, it is easy to handle, offering quick and intuitive installation and removal thanks to its ergonomic design. It is important to note that this cover is intended for use when the device is inactive or in storage and should not be used during trailer transport of the boat.

Expert opinion

« Essential protection for the Humminbird XPLORE 12 screen »

Its primary value lies in the long-term preservation of the screen, the most vulnerable component of a fishfinder. On a boat, a screen is constantly exposed to the elements: fine dust, salt, intense UV rays, and accidental shocks during harbor maneuvers or storage. This durable silicone cover acts as a second skin, significantly extending the device’s lifespan by minimizing daily wear.

Its installation is trivial, requiring no technical skills. It slips on and off in seconds, making it ideal for frequent use. It is crucial to follow the manufacturer’s recommendation: do not use it during trailer transport. During these phases, vibrations and airflow can potentially detach it or cause unwanted friction. For optimal protection, it is preferable to remove it and store the device or cover separately. It is a simple yet effective accessory that prevents costly repairs or premature screen replacement.
