OP20-50 Retrofit Kit SC30-SC33

The FURUNO OP20-50 retrofit kit is a solution designed to simplify the migration of satellite compass installations. It converts the existing wiring of a FURUNO SC-30 system to ensure compatibility with the SC-33 satellite compass. This approach reduces complexity and costs associated with a full wiring replacement during an upgrade.

Performance improvements with the SC-33

By enabling the installation of the SC-33 satellite compass, this kit provides access to improved technical specifications. The SC-33 offers a heading accuracy of 0.4° rms and a resolution of 0.1°, compared to 1.0° rms for the SC-30. Roll and pitch accuracy is also 0.4° rms. The SC-33 stabilization time is approximately 90 seconds, an improvement over the SC-30’s 3 minutes.

Connectivity and compatibility

The SC-33 integrates multi-GNSS support, compatible with GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS satellite networks, ensuring precise GNSS positioning (approximately 5m 2DRMS). It features a certified NMEA2000® interface, with an NMEA0183 option via the IF-NMEASC unit. Output data includes GNSS position, SOG, COG, ROT, heave, roll, pitch, and heading. The SC-33 system is compatible with NavNet TZtouch and NavNet TZtouch2 series, as well as TIMEZERO software, and allows menu access via NavPilot 300, TZT, or TZT2. The OP20-50 retrofit kit is powered by 12-24V DC, and components are designed for marine use.
