Its thermoplastic rubber housing with overmolded PCB and PVC connectors\/cable glands provide IPX7 waterproofing (IEC 529 standard), allowing immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It operates in a temperature range of -15°C to 70°C and must be installed at least 5 cm away from a magnetic compass. The adapter is powered by the NMEA 2000 bus (9-16 V DC), with a maximum power consumption of 1.1 W and a Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 2 (100 mA). It supports transmission of PGN 127245 (Rudder) and reception of PGN 059904 (ISO Request) and 060928 (ISO Address Claim).
