Detailed description
The SEA.AI Watchkeeper 640 S White is an advanced marine vision system designed for sailboats, integrating artificial intelligence for object detection. It combines a 4K low-light optical camera with HDR and a thermal camera for enhanced situational awareness, day and night. This system identifies and classifies potential collision hazards such as small boats, buoys, people in the water, or floating debris that traditional radar and AIS systems might miss.
Advanced detection capabilities
The SEA.AI Watchkeeper 640 S White features an optical camera with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels (4K) with HDR and an ultra-wide field of view of 130° horizontal x 65° vertical. The integrated thermal camera provides a resolution of 640x512 pixels with a 50° field of view (8.7 mm), optimized for night and low-light detection. Its machine vision and deep learning system delivers real-time collision alerts and precise object classification (ship, motorboat, yacht, dinghy, buoy, container, whale, person, or unidentified hazard).
Integration and robustness
Designed for seamless integration with existing multifunction displays (MFD) via Ethernet, the Watchkeeper 640 S White requires no additional screens. It includes a built-in GPS antenna and operates on a 12–36V DC power range, with a nominal power consumption of 27.7W. The housing, measuring 110x163x86mm and weighing 975g, has an IP67 rating, ensuring resistance to demanding marine environments. Its detection range for large ships extends to the horizon, up to 350m for motorboats/sailboats, and 100m for dinghies/people. Software updates via the SEA.AI Oscar app ensure continuous performance improvements.
