• ActiveTarget 2 – Real-time sonar for tracking lures, fish, and structures in real time. The ActiveTarget 2 kit, the module alone, the transducer alone, and associated mounts must be chosen together: transducer orientation and mounting on an electric motor shaft significantly impact the on-screen experience.
• Transducers and imaging – SplitShot, TripleShot, HDI, Active Imaging HD 3-in-1, StructureScan, TotalScan: these names are not interchangeable. An Active Imaging HD 3-in-1 transducer provides SideScan and FishReveal, while an HDI or SplitShot transducer addresses simpler needs. Connector compatibility and screen generation must be verified before ordering.
• Ghost and accessories – The Ghost trolling motors, propeller kits, mounts, covers, power cables, extensions, and spare parts complete the installation. These accessories may seem secondary, but they are often what prevents a clean installation or a quick repair.

• 10 to 16 inches: more structured installation, multi-window displays, advanced sonar, intensive use.

Transducer and mounting

• Transom-mounted: common on rigid inflatables, fishing/promenade boats, and small vessels.
• Electric motor transducer: useful when the display is used for slow-approach or vertical fishing.
• Connectivity: verify 7-pin, 8-pin, xSonic, Ethernet, power, and extensions; Hook, Elite, HDS, and ActiveTarget generations do not always mix without an adapter.

Networking and charts

• NMEA 2000: relevant for sharing certain sensor data, engine, or onboard network data.
• Ethernet / sonar modules: required depending on HDS, ActiveTarget, or StructureScan architectures.
• Charts: validate the area, chart format, and intended fishing use before selecting the display.

Do not choose a Lowrance based solely on screen size. Start with the fishing question: hard or soft bottom, typical depth, need for SideScan, vertical fishing, trolling motor, reading while navigating or slow surveying. Only then validate the screen and transducer. An HDS PRO display without the right transducer can be disappointing; an Eagle properly paired with an appropriate transducer can be far more effective than a more expensive misconfigured setup. For refits, send us the exact screen model, the current transducer, the connector type, and a photo of the installation: this is often the safest way to avoid an incompatible purchase.
