Radar overlay integrates radar imagery onto the chartplotter’s chart page for improved navigation and situational awareness; an autopilot or heading sensor is recommended for optimal results. Dual radar support provides redundancy and allows each display unit on the vessel to pull data from one of two different radar sources. Auto Bird Gain, Dynamic Auto Gain, and Dynamic Sea Filter automatically adjust parameters for performance tailored to varied navigation environments. MARPA (Mini-Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) target tracking can follow up to 30 selected targets, assisting in tracking other vessels and collision avoidance (requires a heading sensor, sold separately). Other features include echo trails, target size adjustment, programmable antenna parking, and guard zones. The system is compatible with Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters in the 7x2, 9x2, 10x2, 12x2, 7400, 7600, 8000, 8200, 8400, and 8600 series.
