sleipner-interface-s-link-gw-1-nmea2000
Sleipner S-LINK GW-1 Interface

    The Sleipner S-LINK GW-1 interface is an NMEA2000®-certified device designed to integrate CAN bus NMEA2000® equipment into a vessel’s S-Link network. It enables seamless communication between various marine electronic systems, such as joystick controls, GPS antennas, engine systems, and autopilots, with Sleipner-compatible thrusters and other equipment.

NMEA2000® CAN Connectivity

    Equipped with an M12 male connector, the GW-1 interface provides NMEA2000® connectivity. This module does not supply power to the CAN bus; connected devices must be powered separately. Termination resistors are required on the CAN bus as they are not integrated into the GW-1 output. The CAN-L and CAN-H lines are galvanically isolated to prevent interference. Standard micro NMEA2000® cables must be used for this connection.

NMEA0183 Interface for GPS

    The S-LINK GW-1 also includes a dedicated NMEA0183 interface for GPS antennas. It supports baud rates of 4800 and 38400, which are configured automatically. This interface is compatible with $GxRMC sentences from all positioning systems. The V OUT pin can power a single GPS antenna with a maximum current of 100mA, protected by an internal fuse. The V OUT voltage matches the S-Link bus voltage.

Advanced GNSS Data Management

    The GW-1 gateway system includes a GNSS antenna signal prioritization function. The priority sequence is as follows: NMEA0183 with a 100ms refresh rate, followed by NMEA2000®, then NMEA0183 with a 1000ms refresh rate. If multiple antennas are present on the NMEA2000® bus, the GW-1 will transmit only one GPS signal to the S-Link. With multiple GW-1 units featuring GNSS signals, the GW-1 units will prioritize the antenna type according to the list, and only one GW-1 will broadcast GNSS signals on the S-Link bus. This feature requires firmware V1.021 or later.

Power and Technical Specifications

    The Sleipner S-LINK GW-1 interface is powered directly from the S-Link bus, eliminating the need for an external power source. It operates within a voltage range of 8 to 31 V DC and weighs 0.2 kg. The system supports various NMEA2000® PGNs, including GPS position data (129025, 129026, 126992, 129029), engine parameters (127488), transmission (127493), vessel heading (127250), rudder (127245), and detailed DC status (127506).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0988/3274/4788/files/main_f54853ab-7013-4d1e-9fd2-c12f425cb168.webp?v=1784737274
