Bronze housings are not recommended for metal hulls due to the risk of electrolytic corrosion. For metal hulls, an Airmar SS75H stainless-steel version is available and must be used with an isolation ring. Its fixed 20° tilted element compensates for keel angles between 16° and 24°, ensuring the sonar beam is directed straight down. With a low profile, the transducer protrudes only 5 mm from the hull, reducing drag. It is recommended for vessels up to 8 m (25–26 ft) in overall length.\n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eInstallation and connectivity\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\n    Installing the transducer requires a 70 mm (2-13\/16 in) hole in the hull and provides 95 mm (3.75 in) of usable shaft length.
