Description détaillée
The B&G V100 VHF radio system is a modular "black box" solution designed for discreet and high-performance integration aboard sailboats. The central unit can be installed away from the helm, leaving the helm station clear. This system is scalable, capable of supporting up to 4 wired handsets and 4 wireless handsets, making it a complete onboard intercom. The V100 model is the base version of this system, focused solely on VHF communication, while the V100-B adds AIS transponder functionality.
Modular design and advanced features
The V100 radio is a Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) system. It includes an audio recording function that stores the last 60 seconds of communication, ensuring no critical information is missed. The transmit power is switchable between 1 W and 25 W. The system also features Track Buddy™ to track the positions of up to five other vessels via their MMSI numbers, as well as dual and triple watch modes. It can be supplemented with a loudhailer and optional foghorn signals, broadcast via a maximum of four external speakers.
Integration and connectivity
Equipped with NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity, the V100 integrates seamlessly with existing onboard electronics, including B&G multifunction displays. This connectivity allows parameters such as handset backlighting to be synchronized with other network screens. The system is powered by 12 V DC. Both the handset and central unit feature IPX7 waterproofing, ensuring protection against temporary immersion.
Positioning: V100 vs V100-B
The V100 system is the foundation of B&G’s modular range. It differs from the V100-B model by the absence of an integrated AIS transponder. The V100 is the ideal solution for sailors who already have an independent AIS system or do not require AIS transmission functionality. The V100-B model, on the other hand, integrates a full Class B AIS transceiver, allowing not only the reception of targets but also the transmission of the vessel’s position for active safety. Both models share the same modular architecture and the same VHF communication features.
