COLREG/COLREGS: Safety begins with being seen. International regulations (COLREG/COLREGS) mandate specific visibility ranges and sectors based on the size of your vessel. We only carry brands (Hella, Lopolight, Mantagua) whose optics strictly adhere to these standards, even after 10 years of exposure to UV and salt.

Find our subcategories for each use:

  • Masthead lights (Tricolor): The preferred solution under sail to save energy and group the port, starboard, and stern sectors into a single high point. .
  • Navigation Lights & Side Lights: Dedicated port/starboard lights, to be installed on the railing or wheelhouse for motoring or emergency navigation .
  • Toplights & Deck Lights: To illuminate the foredeck during night maneuvers and signal when under power .
  • Anchor lights: 360° white light essential for anchoring. Our LED versions consume less than 0.1A to last all night .
  • Flashing Lights & Search: For emergency location or tricky harbor entry .
  • Light Bulbs & Accessories: From classic festoon bulbs to specialized mounting brackets .

💬 The Workshop's Opinion: Switching to LED lights is now a no-brainer for energy efficiency (consumption reduced tenfold compared to halogen). However, be aware: Low-end LED lights generate a lot of radio interference that disrupts VHF and AIS reception. At Skysat, we only sell EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) certified lights that won't interfere with your electronics.

⚠️ Important - Range selection: Do not undersize your lights.

  • Boats < 12m: Minimum range 1 mile (lateral) / 2 miles (masthead).

  • Boats 12m - 20m: Minimum range 2 nautical miles (lateral) / 3 nautical miles (masthead). 👉 Check the technical specifications of each light to confirm its certification in relation to the length of your hull.
