Detailed description
Detailed description
The EC-0025-00 charger is the AC charger specified by ePropulsion for its 48 V LiFePO4 lithium batteries in the E series: E60, E100 and E163. It connects to the mains and to the battery, and a communication cable links it to the battery; its LED indicates a communication fault.
Electrical specifications
On a 200–240 V AC network, the charger delivers up to 25 A, with a maximum input current of 9 A. On a 100–127 V AC network, it delivers up to 15 A, with a maximum input current of 6.5 A. The nominal output voltage is 48 V, within a range of 35.2–58.8 V. The power factor is at least 0.95 and the conversion efficiency at least 92%.
Charging times
According to ePropulsion, on a 220 V network, a single charger recharges an E60 in about 2.7 hours and an E163 in about 7.2 hours; with two chargers in parallel, these times drop to 1.3 and 3.6 hours respectively. For an E100, the manufacturer states 5.1 hours with one charger and 2.6 hours with two. Up to eight chargers can operate in parallel on the same bank, using Y-split communication cables and ePropulsion’s original output cables.
Installation and use
The charger is IP65 rated and operates between -20 °C and +40 °C; it can be stored between -40 °C and +85 °C. Its LED indicates charge status: flashing green during charging, solid green when charging is stopped or complete, flashing red if communication with the battery fails, alternating green and red when no battery is connected.
What’s in the box
The charger is supplied with its AC input cable, a 2.5 m output cable with aviation connector for E-series batteries, a communication cable, and the user manual. It carries CE (Low Voltage and EMC directives), FCC and RoHS markings.
