Benoît Cabaret

The multihull co-architect of Nigel Irens

Benoît Cabaret is a French naval architect, trained at Southampton Solent University, who has worked in partnership with the British Nigel Irens since 1997. His specialty: fast multihulls, racing and cruising-racing.

A collaboration focused on ORMA and their derivatives

The Irens/Cabaret duo designed several ORMA 60 trimarans in the 2000s, then repurposed the molds of these racing boats to produce fast-cruise versions. Cabaret notably worked on modifications to the Sodeb'O (forward float extension in 2011 for heavy weather safety) and on the cruising version of the Fujifilm (wider central hull, beam reduced to 14.5 m).
