Benoît Cabaret

The multihull co-designer of Nigel Irens

Benoît Cabaret is a French naval architect, trained at Southampton Solent University, who has worked in partnership with the British Nigel Irens since 1997. His specialty: fast multihulls, racing and cruiser-racing.

A collaboration focused on ORMA and their derivatives

The Irens/Cabaret duo designed several ORMA 60 trimarans in the 2000s, then repurposed the molds of these racing boats to produce fast-cruise versions. Cabaret notably worked on modifications to Sodeb'O (forward float extension in 2011 for heavy-weather safety) and on the cruising version of Fujifilm (wider central hull, beam reduced to 14.5 m).
