Designed for automatically tuned HF SSB systems, the AC Antennas KUM480MWMe whip antenna provides an omnidirectional marine communication solution for recreational and commercial vessels. With a length of 4.8 metres and a maximum power rating of 500W PEP (Peak Envelope Power), it covers a frequency range from 1.4 to 30 MHz.

Design and materials

The KUM480MWMe antenna is manufactured in two sections for ease of transport and installation. Its body is fibreglass and its radiating elements are copper, optimizing performance. The crimping technology used in its construction provides increased structural strength, being 4 to 5 times stronger. It is built with high-quality materials to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Performance and robustness

Featuring an IP66 rating, the AC Antennas KUM480MWMe antenna is protected against dust and powerful water jets. It can withstand winds up to 200 km/h (44 m/s) and operates within a temperature range of -55 to +60 °C. Its side-fed design and vertical polarization complete its technical features for efficient onboard integration. The impedance is 50 Ohm.
