Detailed description
Designed for safety at sea, the ACR SM3 is a high-intensity LED man-overboard (MOB) light, SOLAS/MED-approved, intended to mark the position of a person in the water and facilitate rescue operations. This compact and lightweight device ensures prolonged visibility in various conditions, meeting the requirements of both professional and recreational marine environments.
Light Performance and Visibility
The ACR SM3 projects a 3-candela light over 360°, ensuring visibility up to 2 nautical miles thanks to its high-intensity LED strobe. Its flash rate ranges from 50 to 70 flashes per minute. It delivers over 40 hours of continuous operation at 30°C and over 24 hours at -1°C, enabling effective location over an extended period.
Robust Design and Reliable Activation
Made with a UV-resistant polycarbonate housing and featuring international safety orange color, the ACR SM3 is built for durability. It activates automatically via a gravity switch upon immersion in water and rights itself for optimal light emission. Its robustness has been tested with drops from 76 meters, exceeding the SOLAS standard of 30 meters.
Ease of Use and Maintenance
This man-overboard (MOB) light operates on 2 user-replaceable AA Lithium (L91) batteries, extending its operational lifespan. Its dimensions are 253 mm in length and 56 mm in diameter, with a weight of 330g (including batteries). The included mounting bracket is compatible with the hole spacing of the ACR SM-2 model, simplifying installation or replacement without requiring new drilling.
