Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Airmar B175H through-hull transducer with a 20° tilt is designed to deliver optimal CHIRP performance, particularly suited for fish detection and seabed detail, from shallow waters to intermediate depths. This High CHIRP transducer operates across a frequency range of 130 to 210 kHz, providing a total bandwidth of up to 80 kHz. Its nominal power is 1 kW, allowing it to reach maximum depths of 304 meters (1,000 feet).
Tilted Element™ Technology and Design
The integrated Tilted Element™ technology corrects the hull’s deadrise angle, ensuring the ceramic element remains horizontal to maximize echo returns. Specifically designed for hulls with deadrise angles between 16° and 24°, this transducer eliminates the need for a fairing block. Its low-profile bronze housing protrudes less than 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) from the hull, reducing drag and allowing use with trailers without risk of damage.
Performance and Compatibility
With beam widths ranging from 15° to 9° (or 10° to 6°) in the high-frequency band, the Airmar B175H provides improved target separation, ideal for locating fish near structures or in schools. It delivers accurate depth and water temperature readings with rapid response. The bronze housing is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls and requires a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) hole for installation. Its weight is approximately 2.7 kg (6 lbs). Some versions include Airmar’s patented Xducer ID® technology.
