Detailed description
Designed for detailed underwater exploration and precision mapping, the AIRMAR SS903 through-hull Side Scan CHIRP transducer is optimized for Furuno NavNet TZtouchXL systems. It integrates with compatible Furuno multifunction chartplotters, including models TZT10X, TZT13X, and TZT16X. This transducer delivers high-resolution side imaging, essential for identifying underwater structures and fish schools.
Imaging Performance and Technical Specifications
The AIRMAR SS903 operates on a CHIRP frequency range of 445-465 kHz, with a power output of 150W. This frequency band is dedicated to producing sharp, high-contrast side images, aiding in structure detection, seafloor definition, and precision mapping. It offers a maximum range of 200 meters. An integrated water temperature sensor provides comprehensive environmental data. The transducer comes with 12 meters of cable and a 12-pin connector, ensuring direct connection to compatible Furuno equipment.
Design and Installation
The SS903 features a stainless steel housing, providing corrosion resistance and stability in marine environments. Its through-hull design ensures uninterrupted water flow and consistent scanning performance. For hulls with deadrise angles exceeding 10°, the use of a fairing is recommended, supporting angles up to 22°. Optimal performance is observed at speeds between 1.5 and 8.5 knots, with functional capability up to 30 knots.
