Detailed description
Detailed description
The Attwood PowerBase Light is a motorized foldable base designed for the deployment and stowage of marine navigation lights. Operating on a 12V DC system, this solution allows users to control the movement of their navigation light from the helm, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
Design and Compatibility
Constructed with a high-impact polymer housing stabilized against UV rays and marine-grade stainless steel components, the PowerBase Light features a corrosion-resistant build. It is specifically compatible with Attwood LightArmor LED All-Round navigation lights (series 5590) and LED masthead lights (series 7800). The base offers a 180° range of motion, allowing the light to fold toward the stern or bow of the boat. It uses standardized surface-mounting patterns, typically a 3-hole pattern, to simplify installation or replacement.
Smart Features and Safety
The system integrates safety features. The SafeGuard Breakaway action allows the unit to detach in the event of an impact, preventing costly damage to the light or boat structure. The SmartDeploy Backdrive function detects obstructions during deployment, automatically reverses the movement, and returns to the initial position while alerting the user via an LED feedback. Control is achieved through standard rocker switches or multifunction displays (MFD), requiring a 2-position SPST switch with LED backlighting. The internal drive system is a permanently lubricated and sealed worm gear, requiring no maintenance. Marine-grade 18 AWG wiring is required for installation. The device complies with FCC Part 15 rules.
