Detailed description
Detailed description
The BLUE SEA m-Series Mini Dual Circuit Plus™ battery switch (model 6011) is a compact and robust solution designed for efficient management of two isolated battery banks. Ideally suited for outboards and small gasoline or diesel engines, this switch offers a continuous rating of 300A DC per circuit, with a 675A DC cranking current for 30 seconds and an intermittent current of 450A DC for 5 minutes. Its Dual Circuit Plus™ functionality allows simultaneous switching of two battery banks to all loads, or combining them for increased power needs or emergency situations.
This model features 3/8"-16 (M10) tinned copper studs, ensuring maximum conductivity and excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments. The one-piece stud design guarantees stable and reliable long-term connections. An insulating housing with three removable side sections protects the rear contacts and facilitates cable access, allowing flexible wire routing in all directions.
Positioning and Blue Sea Systems Range
Blue Sea Systems' m-Series is positioned as the most compact option in the brand's lineup, particularly suited for installations where space is a major constraint. With its 300A continuous rating, it is specifically designed for outboard engines and small heat engines. It differs from higher-end ranges like the e-Series, which offers a 350A continuous rating for gasoline or diesel inboard engines, and the HD-Series, designed for large diesel engines with ratings up to 600A. Model 6011, with its Dual Circuit Plus™ function, allows flexible battery management, isolating starting and service circuits while offering a combine function for emergency situations, ensuring optimal preservation of the starting battery and protection of sensitive electronic equipment.
Compliance and Technical Installation
This battery switch meets ABYC requirements for battery switches and is UL 1107 listed. It is also compliant with UL 1500 and SAE J1171 standards for external ignition protection, making it safe for installations on gasoline-powered boats. The maximum operating voltage is 32V DC. To ensure optimal performance, the use of 4/0 AWG (120 mm²) cables per terminal is recommended, with a tightening torque of 13.56 N·m (120 in-lb). The compact dimensions (approximately 74.93 mm x 74.93 mm) and multiple mounting options (surface, front panel, rear panel) facilitate its integration into various layouts.
