Detailed description
Detailed description
The Blue Sea m-Series Mini Dual Circuit Plus™ Battery Switch (model 6011200-BSS) is designed for flexible and secure management of two isolated battery banks in marine, RV, or emergency vehicle applications. This switch allows simultaneous switching between two battery banks or combining them to power all loads, providing essential versatility for onboard electrical systems.
Advanced Battery Bank Management
With a continuous capacity of 300A DC per circuit and a starting current of 675A DC per circuit for 30 seconds, the 6011200-BSS model is suitable for outboards and small gasoline or diesel engines. It differs from the standard "Dual Circuit" version of the m-Series by its "Plus™" function, which includes the ability to combine battery banks when needed—a feature absent in basic Dual Circuit models. This functionality is particularly useful for emergency starts or maximizing energy availability.
Design and Technical Specifications
The switch is equipped with 3/8"-16 (M10) tinned copper terminals for maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance, accepting cables up to 4/0 AWG (120 mm²). Its "Make-Before-Break" design ensures switching without interrupting power, protecting sensitive electronic equipment from voltage spikes and outages. The Blue Sea m-Series Mini Dual Circuit Plus™ meets ABYC requirements for battery switches, is UL 1107 listed, and complies with UL 1500 and SAE J1171 standards for external ignition protection, making it safe for installations on gasoline-powered boats. Its compact housing (approximately 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 8.4 cm) and multiple mounting options (surface, front, or rear panel) facilitate integration into tight spaces, unlike Blue Sea’s larger HD-Series switches designed for diesel engines with higher DC current requirements up to 600A.
