Detailed description
Detailed description
The FURUNO DFF3D is a 3D multibeam fishfinder Black-Box designed for detailed underwater exploration and fish location. This device uses advanced multibeam technology to provide real-time underwater images with a 120-degree coverage from port to starboard.
Performance and underwater scanning
Operating at a frequency of 165 kHz, the DFF3D delivers an output power of 800 W, enabling deep penetration. The detection range of the main beam, directly below the boat, exceeds 300–350 meters, while the side beams reach up to 200 meters across a 120-degree width. The operating range extends from 3 meters to 1200 meters. Compatible transducers, such as the B54, TM54, and SS54, include a motion sensor to stabilize the display, ensuring clear images even in rough seas.
Display modes and advanced features
The DFF3D offers four distinct display modes to suit various navigation and fishing needs:
- Cross Section: Displays real-time echoes of the water column over a 120-degree span from port to starboard, useful for visualizing fish schools and water column conditions.
- 3D History: Provides an intuitive 3D image of the seabed with fish school icons, facilitating the identification of fishing zones and seabed assessment.
- Single/Triple Beam Sounder: Displays a single beam (below the boat) or three directional beams (center, left, right) simultaneously to analyze depth, fish movement, and seabed conditions in each direction.
- Side Scan: Delivers high-definition images of underwater structures to port and starboard, ideal for structure search and understanding seabed topography.
Integration and technical specifications
The DFF3D processor weighs 3 kg and operates on 12–24 VDC. Its dimensions are 38 cm in width, 31.6 cm in height, and 12 cm in depth. It offers connectivity via a 10/100Base-TX Ethernet LAN port. The main unit is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -15°C to +55°C and has an IP55 waterproof rating, ensuring resistance to marine environments.
