Detailed description
Detailed description
The FURUNO FCV800 fishfinder is designed for detailed underwater imaging, distinguishing fish from bottom structures. It integrates TrueEcho CHIRP technology and supports continuous wave (CW) transducers, offering flexibility for various fishing applications.
Sonar display and performance
This fishfinder is equipped with an 8.4" color LCD screen with SVGA resolution of 800x600 pixels and a brightness of 800 cd/m². The FCV800 operates on CW frequencies of 50/200 kHz and CHIRP frequencies from 40 to 225 kHz. It delivers an output power of 600W or 1kW, enabling a detection range from 2 to 1200 meters. Pulse repetition frequency ranges from 0.04 to 3.0 ms, with a maximum of 3,000 pulses per minute.
Advanced detection technologies
The TruEcho CHIRP™ technology provides improved target separation for baitfish, gamefish, and underwater structures. The FURUNO FCV800 features two transducer ports, allowing simultaneous use of CHIRP and CW transducers. This combined capability enables displaying CHIRP echoes while using CW functions such as ACCU-FISH™ and Bottom Discrimination. ACCU-FISH™ evaluates fish size (from 10 to 199 cm) and depth (from 2 to 100 m). Bottom Discrimination identifies substrate composition (rock, sand, gravel, or mud). The RezBoost™ signal processing enhances CW transducer clarity, providing up to 8x sharper images. Features like Color Expansion and White Line facilitate distinguishing fish near the bottom.
Connectivity and additional features
The FCV800 includes wireless Wi-Fi connectivity for secondary display on smartphones or tablets. It is compatible with NMEA0183 (Ver 1.0/2.0/3.0) and NMEA2000 interfaces. It supports connectivity with external sensors, such as a satellite compass for pitch/roll correction, and external chartplotters like TZ Professional and Olex for TLL (Target Lat/Lon) and bottom hardness data output. The unit includes configurable alarms for depth, fish echoes, and speed. The interface features a front glass panel with buttons and a RotoKey™ for intuitive operation. It offers new color palettes (Sunlight and Yellow) for enhanced visibility in bright sunlight. Powered by 12-24V DC, with a consumption of 1.6 - 0.8 A, the FCV800 has an IP56 waterproof rating. Its physical dimensions (without bracket) are 290 (W) x 281 (H) x 136 (D) mm and its weight with bracket is 2.4 kg.
