Detailed description
The FURUNO IF-NMEASC-E interface is an NMEA data converter module designed to optimize the connectivity of Furuno SC-30 and SC-33 satellite compasses. It translates complex NMEA2000 network data into more conventional formats such as NMEA0183, AD-10, and analog outputs, facilitating integration with a wide range of marine navigation equipment.
Data conversion and connectivity
This module receives NMEA2000 data for heading, pitch, roll, GNSS position (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS), speed over ground (SOG), course over ground (COG), rate of turn (ROT), and heave from SC-30/SC-33 compasses. The IF-NMEASC-E interface features one NMEA2000 input port and offers multiple output options, including two NMEA0183 ports (compliant with IEC 61162-1 standard), one AD-10 port, and a dedicated analog output port for pitch and roll. The baud rates of the NMEA0183 ports are configurable at 4800 or 38,400 baud, with a high-speed mode recommended for critical applications such as autopilots.
Integration and environment
The FURUNO IF-NMEASC-E interface is powered via the connected network or the main unit, accepting a 12–24 V DC voltage. Designed for marine environments, it operates within an ambient temperature range of -15°C to +55°C and has an IP20 protection rating. The module also allows configuration of offsets for heading, pitch, and roll, ensuring optimal accuracy and consistency of transmitted data. Its compact design facilitates installation in confined spaces, guaranteeing smooth integration and reliable data distribution within the navigation network.
