The FURUNO IPS-5000 intercom station is a component designed to extend the communication capabilities of the FURUNO LH-5000 Loud Hailer system. This accessory enables robust two-way communication essential for onboard coordination or external vessel communication.

Integration and Performance

The IPS-5000 delivers 5 watts at 8 ohms, ensuring clear audio in a marine environment. Its design features an IP67 waterproof rating, protecting against dust and allowing immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Dimensions are 5.3 inches (width) x 2.3 inches (depth) x 5.7 inches (height). Integration with the LH-5000 system is specific, enabling an 8-channel PA system that can accommodate up to 6 intercom stations.

Extended LH-5000 System Features

In addition to the LH-5000, the IPS-5000 enables use of features such as the "Listen Back" function, which uses the horn speaker as a microphone to capture ambient sounds. It also supports broadcasting the LH-5000’s 8 international warning signals, including fog horn and alarm signals. With this station, the LH-5000’s auxiliary audio input can be broadcast, allowing external audio sources to be shared via the intercom system and speakers.
