Detailed description
Designed for navigation and long-range surveillance, the stabilized thermal camera FURUNO M364C LR 30HZ combines dual imaging capabilities: thermal and visible. With a thermal resolution of 640x512 pixels and a 30 Hz refresh rate, it delivers smooth, detailed imagery for detection in darkness or fog. Its 18° x 13.5° field of view (FoV) and fixed 25 mm focal length are optimized for applications requiring extended range.
Advanced imaging technology
In addition to its VOx Microbolometer thermal camera (FLIR Boson), the M364C LR integrates a high-definition color day camera with a 1/2.8” Exmor R CMOS sensor. This visible camera offers up to 1080/30p resolution (1920x1080 @ 30fps) and features a powerful 30x optical zoom, complemented by 12x digital zoom. Image fusion is enhanced by FLIR Color Thermal Vision™ (CTV) technology, which overlays color details from the visible camera onto the thermal image, making buoys and other vessels easier to identify. FLIR’s Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE) image processing improves thermal quality, increasing the visibility of low-contrast targets.
Stabilization and system integration
The FURUNO M364C LR 30HZ features two-axis gyro mechanical stabilization with an integrated AHRS sensor, compensating for pitch, roll, and yaw to provide stable imagery in rough seas. It offers continuous Pan/Tilt adjustment of 360° and ±90° in tilt. Integration is simplified with HD-SDI video outputs, H.264 network video streaming, and NTSC/PAL analog video output. Compatible with multifunction displays (MFD) from brands such as Furuno (NavNet TZtouch3 v2.01+), Raymarine Axiom, Garmin, and Simrad/B&G, it allows intuitive control of pan, tilt, and zoom via the MFD’s touchscreen. With NavNet TZtouch3, it supports automatic target tracking for ARPA, AIS, GPS positions, waypoints, or man-overboard.
Robust design and performance
Built for the marine environment, the M364C LR 30HZ camera has an IPX6/IP6X rating, ensuring resistance to powerful water jets and dust. It operates in a temperature range from -25°C to +55°C. The Marine Video Analytics (MVA) function provides audio and visual alerts when non-aquatic objects are detected (requires an Axiom display for full functionality). With a typical power consumption of 41 W (56 W with heating), it is suitable for 12 to 24 VDC onboard systems. The M364C LR model differs from the standard M364C by its long-range optimization and a thermal FoV of 18° (compared to 24° for the M364C).
