The PACK NP711C FAP6112 PG700 from FURUNO is a complete NMEA2000 autopilot system designed for navigation on various vessel types, including inboard and outboard motorboats as well as sailboats. This pack integrates a control unit, a processor, a rotating rudder reference unit, and a heading sensor. It is engineered to optimize course-keeping and navigation performance through its advanced features and network integration.

NAVpilot-711C Control Unit

The NAVpilot-711C (FAP7011C) control unit features a 4.1-inch TFT LCD color display with QVGA resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Its effective display area measures 82.56 x 61.92 mm, with adjustable backlighting in 8 levels and a typical brightness of 700 cd/m² for optimal daytime visibility. The unit has an IP56 rating, ensuring resistance to water spray.

FAP7002 Processor and PG700 Sensor

The system’s core, the FAP7002 processor, offers various steering modes including STBY, Auto, Dodge, Turn, Remote, Advanced auto, Navigation, Wind, and FishHunter™. It also manages rudder gain, counter-rudder, and trim settings with automatic or manual options. The PG700 heading sensor is a magnetic fluxgate sensor with semiconductor gyroscope, providing heading accuracy of ±1.0° and a resolution of 0.1°. It is IP55 waterproof and interfaces via NMEA 2000 and FURUNO CAN bus. The processor operates on 12-24 VDC and has an IPX0 rating.

Features and System Integration

This FURUNO autopilot integrates self-learning software that continuously adapts and optimizes the vessel’s steering characteristics, adjusting parameters based on speed, trim, draft, tide, wind effects, and weather conditions. The NMEA2000 and CAN bus interface ensures "Plug and Play" installation and interconnection with other navigation equipment, including NavNet TZtouch3, NavNet TZtouch2, and FI-70 instruments. Specific modes such as SABIKI™ (astern drift for fishing) and FishHunter™ (automatic maneuvers around a target) are included. The FAP6112 rotating aluminum feedback unit, with 20m cable, provides precise rudder reference. The feedback unit has an IP66 rating.
