Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for marine applications, the AIRMAR® B75M (20° tilt) thru-hull transducer from Garmin is a 600 W bronze transducer featuring CHIRP technology. It operates in the mid-frequency range, between 80 kHz and 130 kHz, with a beam width varying from 24° to 16°. This frequency range enables precise target separation and detailed seabed imaging down to a maximum depth of 274 meters (900 feet).
CHIRP technology and tilted element
The AIRMAR® B75M transducer is CHIRP-ready, offering wide-spectrum scanning capability to identify baitfish, gamefish, and underwater structures. Its ceramic element is fixed at a 20° tilt, which corrects the hull’s deadrise angle (from 16° to 24°) and directs the sonar beam straight to the seabed. This design eliminates the need for a fairing block, simplifying installation and reducing drag.
Design and integration
Constructed with a bronze housing, this transducer is suitable for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Its low profile ensures stable display resolution even at high speeds. It integrates fast-response depth and water temperature sensors. Airmar’s Xducer ID® technology is also included. The transducer comes with a 9-meter (30-foot) cable and connects via an 8-pin connector. It is compatible with Garmin sonar systems, including the GSD™ 26, and suitable for vessels up to 8 meters (26 feet). The required mounting hole diameter is 70 mm (2-13/16 inches).
