Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for recreational and technical divers, the Garmin Descent™ X30 is a console-style dive computer featuring a bright 2.4-inch (61 mm) color display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution. The unit is constructed from fiber-reinforced polymer, with the case and bezel made from 100% ocean-bound recycled plastics, underscoring an eco-responsible approach. The design includes chemically strengthened glass and inductive stainless steel buttons rated for water resistance.
Underwater Navigation and Safety
The Garmin Descent™ X30 provides NDL Aware™ depth metrics that calculate in real time the impact of depth changes on the no-decompression limit (NDL), enabling optimized bottom time. It supports multiple dive modes, including single-gas, multi-gas (up to 11 decompression/rescue gases), Trimix, and Gauge mode. Navigation is enhanced by a multi-band surface GPS for marking entry and exit points, along with a 3-axis underwater compass.
Advanced Features and Connectivity
This dive computer features 4 GB of memory, capable of storing up to 200 dives. It uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16c decompression model with customizable gradient factors. An integrated dive light improves visibility, and a water temperature sensor helps locate the thermocline. Surface interval tracking aids in planning repetitive dives. Bluetooth® compatibility with the Garmin Dive™ app enables automatic dive log synchronization for detailed analysis and sharing. The Descent™ X30 is also compatible with the Descent™ T2 transceiver for monitoring up to 8 tanks and can be paired with an inReach® satellite communicator for SOS messaging at the surface.
Ergonomics and Durability
Measuring 78.7 x 61.8 x 24.7 mm and weighing 160 g (without straps), the Garmin Descent™ X30 is designed for comfort. Its hinged silicone strap is compatible with 26 mm QuickFit® straps. The unit is rated to 100 meters (328 feet), compliant with EN 13319 and 10 ATM standards, ensuring depth sensor accuracy from 0 to 100 meters. The rechargeable Li-ion battery offers up to 30 hours of runtime at medium brightness, 10 hours at high brightness, and 47 hours in Night (Lume) mode.
