Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin LiveScope™ XR LVS62 transducer is a key component of the LiveScope XR system, designed for real-time sonar visualization on electric motors. This transducer offers advanced installation and viewing flexibility, allowing users to adapt their setup to fishing and navigation conditions.
Versatile mounting options
The LiveScope™ XR LVS62 transducer provides three distinct mounting methods to suit various electric motor types. The perspective mode mount allows installation of the transducer on the motor shaft using an extension arm, offering perspective, forward, and downward views. For installation on the motor barrel, the barrel mount is available, providing forward and downward views. Finally, the shaft mount secures the transducer directly to the motor shaft, also for forward and downward views, with a lower profile than the perspective mode mount. The included brackets allow tool-free transitions between views using knobs, or a more permanent position with low-profile screws.
View modes and technical installation
With the extension arm and perspective mode bracket, the LiveScope™ XR LVS62 transducer enables switching between three distinct sonar views: perspective, forward, and down. Each mode is verifiable via markers on the bracket and transducer to ensure correct orientation. Installing the device requires a software update on a compatible Garmin chartplotter. Special attention must be given to the transducer cable routing, using electrical tape to secure it above and below the motor’s rotating joint, and creating a service loop of at least 25 cm. To comply with FCC regulations and reduce electromagnetic interference, a ferrite bead must be installed on the transducer cable near the connector.
Important considerations
When planning the installation, it is critical to mount the transducer in a location where it will not be damaged during launch, retrieval, or storage operations. The sonar module (not included with this standalone transducer) must be installed in a well-ventilated area, protected from extreme temperatures and submersion, with LEDs visible and cables accessible. The use of third-party or self-fabricated brackets is not covered by warranty and may result in damage or loss of the transducer. An optional extension cable is available for additional lengths.
