Designed for marine environments, the JL Audio M6-650X-S-GmTi-i 6.5-inch 2-way coaxial marine speakers deliver optimized outdoor sound reproduction. They feature a 6.5-inch woofer and a 0.8-inch silk dome tweeter, both treated for marine conditions. With an RMS power of 75 W per speaker and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, these speakers provide a frequency response from 55 Hz to 25 kHz (± 3 dB) and a sensitivity of 89.5 dB (1 W / 1 m).
Marine-Grade Construction and Integrated Technologies
The JL Audio M6-650X series features marine-grade construction, including UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, and materials compatible with saltwater. The woofer uses a polypropylene cone with mica injection and UV inhibitors, paired with a synthetic rubber surround. JL Audio’s Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) technology optimizes motor behavior to reduce distortion and improve bass extension. The long-throw woofer design ensures energetic bass and precise midrange even at high volumes. Passive 2-way multi-order crossover networks are integrated and protected against vibration and corrosion, complemented by an automatic tweeter protection circuit.
RGB LED Lighting and Installation
These speakers include JL Audio’s patented Transflective™ RGB LED lighting for uniform cone illumination without hot spots. The LED power supply requires 10–14.4 Vdc input and draws 324 mA (at 14.4 Vdc), requiring a 500 mA fuse. A separate JL Audio MLC-RW controller (sold separately) provides access to thousands of color variations. The M6-650X are designed for infinite baffle mounting, simplifying integration. Cutout diameter is 127–133 mm (5.00–5.25 in.) with a mounting depth of 76 mm (3.00 in.) and an outer frame diameter of 175 mm (6.90 in.). They are direct replacements for most 6.5-inch marine speakers. The front face is waterproof, while the rear face—including connections—requires moisture protection and should be mounted on a vertical surface if exposed to weather.
