Detailed description
Detailed description
The JL Audio MHD600/4 marine amplifier is a full-range 4-channel audio solution designed for marine environments. It features the patented Single Cycle Control™ Class D technology, which ensures precise amplification by comparing the audio signal to the actual PWM waveform and making corrections over 400,000 times per second. This approach controls distortion and maintains sound quality.
Power management and audio performance
With an RMS power output of 150 watts x 4 channels at 1.5–4 ohms in stereo, or 300 watts x 2 channels at 3–8 ohms in bridged mode, the MHD600/4 delivers a total power output of 600 watts. It operates on 12V DC electrical systems (11–14.5 volts). The R.I.P.S. (Regulated, Intelligent Power Supply) power supply ensures consistent output power and low distortion across varying load impedances (1.5Ω to 4Ω) and fluctuating input voltages. Its frequency response ranges from 6 Hz to 30 kHz (+0, -1 dB), with a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 110 dB.
Robust design and system integration
The marine-grade design of the JL Audio MHD600/4 includes white and gray powder-coated finishes, a sealed cover for controls, and stainless steel hardware, exceeding salt fog and UV exposure standards. The RealSink™ thermal management system with Rollback Protection uses a vertical cast-alloy heat sink that requires no fans, allowing stacking without compromising cooling. Differential balanced inputs minimize noise and reject interference. Variable high-pass and low-pass filters (50–500 Hz) with selectable slopes (12 or 24 dB/octave) provide configuration flexibility. The MHD600/4 also features removable RCA preamp outputs for audio system expansion and removable power and speaker connectors to simplify installation.
