The JL Audio MV600/2i marine amplifier is a 2-channel, full-range Class D solution featuring second-generation NexD2™ technology and an advanced digital signal processor (DSP). Designed for marine environments, it delivers high-fidelity audio amplification with high efficiency.
Audio performance and power
This amplifier delivers 180 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms or 300 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms at 14.4 V. In bridged mode, it reaches 600 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms. At 12.5 V, the power outputs are 140 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, 225 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms, and 450 watts RMS x 1 bridged at 4 ohms. The frequency response ranges from 12 Hz to 24 kHz (+0, -1 dB), with a signal-to-noise ratio of 99 dB (A-weighted) and THD+N below 1% at 2 ohms per channel. The damping factor is greater than 100 at 4 ohms and 50 Hz, and greater than 50 at 2 ohms and 50 Hz.
Integrated digital signal processing (DSP)
The MV600/2i features a 24-bit 96 kHz DSP (AKM AK7738) for full audio configuration. All amplifier settings and DSP functions are controlled via JL Audio’s TüN™ software, available on PC, Mac, tablets, and smartphones, replacing traditional analog controls. DSP capabilities include input routing and mixing, adjustable gain controls with clipping indicators, fully adjustable high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filters (selectable slopes from 6 to 48 dB/octave), a 10-band equalizer (graphic or parametric), phase and polarity control, and time alignment in 0.02 ms (1/4") increments.
Marine design and connectivity
Housed in a compact cast-alloy chassis with corrosion-resistant marine-grade powder finish and marine-rated connectors, the amplifier is rated IPX2 when mounted vertically with connections facing downward. NexD2™ technology uses DirectFET™ outputs and a reduced-loop design for high efficiency and sound fidelity. It features four balanced differential analog inputs (RCA) accepting signal levels up to 16 V RMS, ensuring effective noise rejection. High-level speaker inputs are configurable via adapter. Four processed analog preamp outputs (4 V RMS max) allow sharing DSP capabilities with other amplifiers. JLid™ connectivity supports optional accessories such as the network hub, Bluetooth communicator (VXi-BTC), and digital remote control (DRC-205 with adapter). The amplifier includes an automatic power-on function triggered by DC offset or signal detection.
