Designed for marine environments, the JL Audio M6-650VeX-Gw-S-GwGw-i are 6.5-inch coaxial 2-way marine tour speakers. This sealed system is engineered to deliver audio in marine applications, motorized sports, and off-road vehicles, featuring a rugged build and integrated RGB LED lighting.
Design and Acoustic Performance
Each M6-650VeX-Gw-S-GwGw-i speaker integrates a 6.5-inch (165 mm) woofer with a mica-injected polypropylene (MIPP) cone and synthetic rubber surround, paired with a 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter. The system delivers a continuous RMS power output of 75 watts per speaker, with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The frequency response is 100 Hz to 25 kHz ± 3 dB, and sensitivity is 89.5 dB @ 1W/1m. The recommended RMS amplifier power is 25 to 150 watts per channel.
Marine Durability and Integration
The speakers are housed in injection-molded, gloss-white enclosures with UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles. This design is validated through rigorous testing in ultraviolet and salt spray chambers, ensuring resistance to marine environments. Each enclosure measures approximately 179 mm (7.03 in) in diameter, 157 mm (6.17 in) in depth, and 185 mm (7.27 in) in height, including the mounting bracket. Each VEX™ pod features a rotating clamp receiver compatible with JL Audio mounting hardware (sold separately), enabling precise positioning. Speaker cables are routed through the center of the mounts for optimal protection and concealment.
Advanced Features and Aesthetics
These speakers incorporate patent-pending JL Audio Transflective™ RGB LED lighting technology, which projects a uniform light effect through the woofer cone, offering selectable lighting colors. An RGB controller (JL Audio MLC-RW or RFRGBMC, sold separately) provides access to thousands of color variations. Advanced passive filters are integrated, optimized for the speaker size, along with electronic tweeter protection circuitry. For aesthetics, each enclosure includes a decorative aluminum logo cap, adjustable to suit various mounting configurations. Each VEX™ pod ships with three meters of 16AWG marine-grade parallel-conductor speaker cable for audio and lighting connections.
