Designed for discreet marine integration, the hidden marine stereo source JL Audio MM55-HR provides a high-fidelity audio solution for naval applications requiring minimal space at the helm. This system has no physical controls or display, relying on external controllers or compatible multifunction displays (MFD) for operation.
Audio Performance and Independent Zones
The JL Audio MM55-HR integrates a 4-channel amplifier delivering 100 watts (25 watts RMS x 4) for zones 1 and 2. It also features nine pre-amplified output channels (4 volts RMS) of audiophile quality, distributed across three separate audio zones, each with a dedicated subwoofer output. Each zone offers flexible control options: volume, subwoofer level, integrated active filters (high-pass: off/80/100/120 Hz; low-pass: off/60/80/100 Hz), volume limits, tone settings (bass, mids, treble, balance) and custom zone naming.
Versatile Connectivity and System Integration
Connectivity is provided by a certified NMEA 2000® network interface, enabling control via compatible MFDs (Garmin, Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad) or JL Audio network controllers (sold separately). Bluetooth® with Qualcomm® aptX™ codec ensures high-quality wireless audio streaming. A USB 2.0 port offers direct digital connection for music files and a 1-amp charging output. An analog AUX input is also available for other external audio sources. The MM55-HR includes global radio tuners, featuring digital AM/FM with RDS and integrated DAB+ radio (Europe), with capacity to store up to 18 favorite stations.
Robust Design and Advanced Features
With water-resistant construction (IP67 rating), the JL Audio MM55-HR is built for the marine environment. It can be installed in hidden compartments to optimize helm space. Control is facilitated by the free MM-Remote mobile app. An integrated low-voltage alert system notifies the user if the +12VDC supply voltage drops below 10 volts, triggering a "safe mode" and muting audio output if necessary. Dimensions are approximately 19.5 cm (W) x 5.8 cm (H) x 12.6 cm (D). It operates within a voltage range of 10 to 16 VDC with a 15 A current draw and supports temperatures from -20°C to +65°C.
