The ActiveTarget 2 XL Lowrance is a real-time sonar system designed for precise detection of fish and underwater structures. It delivers sharp image resolution and a wide field of view, allowing anglers to observe fish and bait movements in real time.
Imaging and detection capabilities
This system stands out for its resolution, providing clear images of fish and lure movements. The XL transducer offers a 180-degree surface-to-surface field of view, covering Forward, Down, and Scout modes from a single unit. This extended coverage allows simultaneous analysis of a larger underwater area. Users can switch between Forward XL and Down XL views directly from their Lowrance-compatible display without manual transducer adjustment.
Advanced features and system integration
The Scout mode is enhanced with reference markers for deep and shallow waters, simplifying view adjustments. ActiveTarget 2 XL provides real-time tracking of fish, bait position, and lure response, enabling adjustments to fishing techniques. The system is compatible with Lowrance HDS Pro, HDS Live, HDS Carbon, and Elite FS multifunction displays. For advanced setups, combining two ActiveTarget 2 XL systems (requiring two sonar modules and two transducers) unlocks a 360° Scout Live view around the boat, exclusive to Lowrance HDS Pro displays.
Technical specifications and installation
The sonar module operates on 12/24 V DC power with a working voltage range of 10.8 to 31.2 V DC. Maximum current draw is 1.5 A at 13.8 V. The module is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, with an operating temperature range of -15°C to +55°C. The XL transducer comes with a 7.62 m cable. Mounting options include the shaft or motor of an electric motor, as well as a standalone transducer pole. A clamp with quick-release and various rings ensures universal compatibility with different electric motor mounts. Transom mounting is available separately. The module weighs 1.86 kg, and the transducer (with cable) weighs 1.61 kg.
