Detailed description
Detailed description
The MLI Ultra 12/6000 lithium battery from Mastervolt is a high-performance energy storage solution designed for demanding marine environments. Using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology, it delivers maximum safety while reducing weight and footprint by up to 70 % compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. With a nominal voltage of 12 V and an impressive capacity of 460 Ah, it provides a nominal energy output of 6000 Wh, meeting the demands of the most power-hungry onboard systems.
Performance and intelligent management
Equipped with an integrated Battery Management System (BMS), the MLI Ultra 12/6000 ensures active cell balancing and real-time monitoring of critical parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature. It supports a maximum charge current of 460 A and a recommended continuous discharge current of up to 300 A (with peaks of 1800 A for 10 seconds), enabling ultra-fast recharging and powering high-demand equipment. Its exceptional lifespan reaches 3500 cycles at a Depth of Discharge (DoD) of 80 % at 25 °C. Unlike the lower-capacity MLI Ultra 12/3000 models, this 6000 Wh version is ideal for main battery banks on large vessels.
Advanced integration and connectivity
Network integration is central to the design of the MLI Ultra 12/6000. It seamlessly communicates via MasterBus, CZone, and NMEA 2000 protocols, facilitating integration into modern energy management systems. The electronic enclosure features an IP65 protection rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water spray. The battery allows unlimited parallel connections and series connections of up to 10 units, offering exceptional modularity for creating custom battery banks ranging from 12 V to over 48 V (with the required isolation precautions for high voltage). The use of an external safety relay (ref. 7700B-BSS) is mandatory to ensure complete protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overheating.
