Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine environments, the Mastervolt Mass 48/25 230V MB battery charger is a robust and reliable power conversion solution. It provides stable, ripple-free power even without batteries connected, and is suited for professional, semi-professional, and recreational applications. Its design features a lightweight enclosure in stainless steel and anodized aluminum, with internal components coated for protection against moisture and condensation.
Charging Capabilities and Compatibility
This 48 V battery charger delivers a total charge current of 25 A at 57 V via a single output. It is compatible with a wide range of battery types, including Gel, AGM, Wet, and Lithium Ion batteries, and can recharge fully discharged batteries. The automatic 3-stage+ IUoUo charging characteristic optimizes the process for each battery type. Charge voltages are: 57 V in Bulk, 57 V in Absorption (duration of 4 hours), 53 V in Float for Wet batteries, and 55.2 V in Float for Gel/AGM batteries.
Integrated Features and Connectivity
The Mastervolt Mass 48/25 230V MB comes with a temperature sensor for optimized charging. It maintains full output power up to 40°C. Its current control function allows the charger’s power to be reduced to prevent fuse tripping in case of voltage drops. With MasterBus compatibility, it offers centralized monitoring, configuration, and control options, locally or remotely. The charger is also GMDSS-compliant, meeting SOLAS safety directives for marine use. It can be paralleled with other chargers to increase charging capacity.
Technical Specifications
The charger operates with a nominal input voltage of 230 V (range 180–265 V) at 50/60 Hz. It features galvanic isolation. Its dimensions are 340 x 261 x 130 mm (H x W x D) and its weight is 4.6 kg. It complies with CE, ABYC A-31, RRR, RMRS, and IEC60945 standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) is 180,000 hours in continuous full-load operation.
