Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for deep-sea fishing, the NAVICO XSONIC Airmar B175L (20°) is a through-hull CHIRP transducer rated at 1 kW. This model provides depth and water temperature data, operating on a low-frequency CHIRP range of 40 to 60 kHz with a total bandwidth of 20 kHz. Its detection capability reaches up to 762 meters (2,500 feet), and potentially 3,000 feet under optimal conditions.
Tilted element technology and performance
The XSONIC Airmar B175L (20°) features a fixed 20° tilted ceramic element, compensating for deadrise angles from 16° to 24°. This technology ensures the sonar beam is directed straight to the seabed, optimizing echo returns and eliminating the need for a fairing block. The transducer has a low profile, protruding only 6 mm from the hull, making it suitable for trailerable boats.
Design and integration
The bronze housing is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls, and installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) hole. The acoustic window is made of urethane. This transducer is compatible with CHIRP sonar systems and incorporates patented Xducer ID® technology, allowing the fishfinder to auto-configure and monitor the operating temperature of the ceramics. The XSONIC Airmar B175L (20°) is recommended for vessels up to 11 meters (36 feet) in length and comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable featuring a 9-pin XSONIC connector.
