Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for fish detection and seabed monitoring, the through-hull transducer XSONIC Airmar B175M (12°) integrates CHIRP technology for detailed performance. With a power output of 1 kW, it operates in the medium frequency band, covering a range from 85 kHz to 135 kHz, enabling high target resolution and fish separation.
CHIRP technology and tilted element
The Airmar B175M uses CHIRP technology for continuous frequency sweep, providing 50 kHz of total bandwidth. This capability ensures clear and precise echo returns for fish and underwater structure identification. Its Tilted Element™ is fixed at a 12° angle inside the housing, compensating for hull deadrise angles between 8° and 15°. This design directs the sonar beam straight down, maximizing echo returns without requiring an external fairing block.
Design and compatibility
The bronze housing of the B175M transducer is recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls. It is not suitable for aluminum hulls. Its low-profile through-hull design reduces drag and allows for an almost flush installation with the hull, ideal for towed or lifted boats. It is compatible with hull deadrise angles of 8° to 15° thanks to its 12° tilted element.
Features and installation
The transducer provides fast-response depth and water temperature data. It offers a beam width of 16° to 11° and a maximum range of 457 meters (1500 feet). Installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4") hole for fiberglass or wooden hulls. Integrated Xducer ID® technology enables automatic fishfinder configuration and continuous monitoring of ceramic operating temperature, optimizing system performance without manual intervention.
