Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS164 (0°) through-hull transducer is a 1 kW stainless steel solution designed for depth and water temperature sensing. It features dual-frequency operation at 50 kHz and 200 kHz, providing adaptable coverage for varying navigation and fishing depths. This model is specifically suited for high-speed vessels, tournament boats, and sport fishing craft requiring a low-profile installation without a fairing block.
Sonar Performance and Technical Specifications
With 1 kW of power, the XSONIC Airmar SS164 (0°) delivers a maximum range of 549 meters (1,800 feet) at 50 kHz and 244 meters (800 feet) at 200 kHz. The 22° wide beam at 50 kHz provides broad coverage, while the 6° narrow beam at 200 kHz offers detailed target detection in shallow waters. Tilted Element™ technology embeds the ceramics at an angle within the housing, producing a vertical beam directly beneath the boat without requiring a fairing block. The transducer also provides rapid-response water temperature data.
Design and Installation
The stainless steel housing of the XSONIC Airmar SS164 (0°) is compatible with all hull types. Its low-profile through-hull design protrudes less than 6.35 mm (1/4") from the hull, making it trailer-friendly and resistant to damage. The 0° model is optimized for hulls with a deadrise angle of 0° to 7°. The transducer comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable and a 9-pin Navico connector. It weighs 2.7 kg (6 lb) and features a urethane acoustic window. Recommended for boats up to 11 meters (35–36 feet), it maintains accurate data at speeds up to 30 knots.
