Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS175M (12°) through-hull transducer is a CHIRP stainless steel transducer designed for depth detection and water temperature measurement. With a power output of 1 kW and a medium CHIRP frequency range of 85 kHz to 135 kHz, it balances deep penetration and target resolution. This model is suitable for fiberglass, wood, and metal hulls.
Medium CHIRP Technology and Fixed Tilt Element
The SS175M’s medium CHIRP technology enables efficient fish detection and bottom tracking up to a maximum depth of 457 meters (1,500 feet), with a target resolution beam width ranging from 16° to 11°. Its fixed 12° tilt element compensates for hull deadrise angles between 8° and 15°, directing the sonar beam straight down for optimal echo returns without requiring a fairing block. This low-profile design minimizes drag and ensures good display resolution even at high speeds.
Robust Design and Versatile Installation
Constructed with a stainless steel housing, the SS175M transducer is compatible with all hull materials, including metal hulls, provided the housing is isolated to prevent electrolytic corrosion. The through-hull installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4 inch) hole for fiberglass or wood hulls, and a 105 mm (4-1/8 inch) hole for metal hulls. It is recommended for vessels up to 11 meters (36 feet) in overall length. The transducer comes with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable equipped with a black 9-pin xSonic connector.
