The SSC300-01 transmits heading and angular rate data to optimize autopilot, multifunction display, and radar system performance. Its semiconductor design ensures rapid response and consistent accuracy, even in rough sea conditions. Installing the Raymarine SSC300-01 compass requires careful attention to ensure optimal performance. The sensor must be positioned away from magnetic interference sources such as engines, speakers, and power cables. Minimum distances of 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) from interference sources are recommended, with specific guidelines for non-magnetic and magnetic hulls (1.2m or 1.8m from certain sources). The compass comes with an 8-meter (26-foot) cable to facilitate optimal placement.
