Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A80330 mounting kit is designed for installing CPT-DV and CPT-DVS transducers on various types of vessels. This versatile bracket allows for mounting on a trolling motor, under the hull, or on a hull chines, providing installation flexibility based on the vessel's specific requirements.
Mounting Options and Details
When mounting on a trolling motor, the kit includes the bracket, fasteners, and documentation. Adjustable straps (hose clamps) with a diameter suitable for the motor, a maximum width of 15 mm, and a thickness of 2 mm, as well as cable clamps, are required but not included. The transducer must be positioned horizontally under the trolling motor to point vertically downward during use. Care must be taken not to overtighten the straps to avoid damaging the bracket or motor.
For installations under the hull or on a chine, the bracket must be mounted on a horizontal surface. To ensure optimal fishfinder performance, the transducer should be placed in an area with minimal turbulence and aeration. It is recommended to mount it near the keel (centerline), at a sufficient distance from propellers to avoid their wake, and to ensure the transducer element is fully submerged when the boat is planing and during turns. Areas at the rear of planks, ribs, rivet rows, and chines, which may generate turbulence, should be avoided. The installation must not be done behind propellers. The mounting process on hull or chine involves marking, drilling four holes, filling them with marine sealant, then securing the bracket with the provided screws before sliding in the transducer.
Dimensions and Removal
The dimensions of the transducer with this bracket are 228 mm in length, 44.25 mm in height, and 41 mm in depth. Removing the transducer from the bracket is done by inserting a thin metal rod, such as a paperclip, into the transducer's unlocking hole, then sliding it out of the bracket.
