Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A06034 backbone cable is a fundamental component for installing and extending any SeaTalk NG marine network. With a length of 1 meter, it is specifically designed to form the backbone of the network, ensuring stable and reliable NMEA2000 data communication between all connected devices, such as multifunction displays, autopilots, instruments, and sensors.
Construction and reliability of the SeaTalk NG network
The Raymarine SeaTalk NG system, while electrically compatible with the NMEA2000 standard, uses a proprietary connector system known for its robustness and ease of installation. This 1-meter backbone cable is fitted with blue connectors at each end, a color convention that allows it to be instantly distinguished from spur cables with white connectors. This visual distinction minimizes wiring errors during installation. The cable is designed to connect two SeaTalk NG T-connectors, extending the backbone to reach different installation points for your onboard equipment.
Positioning in the Raymarine range
This 1-meter cable is one of the most common lengths, ideal for short connections, for example between instruments mounted on a helm console. It fits into a complete range of Raymarine backbone cables ranging from 400 mm (A06033) to 20 meters (A06037), offering maximum flexibility to adapt to any vessel configuration. Unlike standard NMEA2000 networks using Micro-C connectors, the SeaTalk NG system offers more secure locking, a notable advantage in marine environments subject to vibrations. For integration with equipment from other brands (Garmin, B&G), SeaTalk NG to NMEA2000 adapters are required.
