Detailed description
Detailed description
The Simrad GO9 XSE is a 9-inch multifunction display designed for navigation and fishing. It integrates a 10 Hz GPS receiver, an advanced fishfinder, and radar capabilities. Its Super-bright 1200-nit multi-touch touchscreen offers 800 x 480 pixel resolution and 80° viewing angles in all directions (up/down, left/right) for a 10:1 contrast ratio.
Active Imaging 3-in-1 Transducer
The GO9 XSE ships with the Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer, combining Lowrance CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan Imaging technologies. This transducer operates on CHIRP mid/high frequencies (83/200 kHz) and 455/800 kHz. It achieves a maximum depth of 305 m in traditional sonar (200 kHz), 91 m in DownScan, and 91 m in SideScan (455 kHz). The FishReveal™ feature simplifies target identification by overlaying CHIRP and DownScan data on the same screen.
Navigation and Chartplotting
This chartplotter supports a wide range of charting options, including C-MAP (DISCOVER, MAX-N, MAX-N+), Navionics (Gold, NAV+ Platinum+), Insight, Insight Genesis, and NV Digital Charts. Its integrated 10 Hz GPS ensures precise positioning. The system can store 6,000 waypoints, 500 routes (with a maximum of 100 points per route), and 50 tracks (up to 12,000 track points). The TripIntel™ technology provides trip planning data such as fuel range and tide levels.
Connectivity and Integration
The GO9 XSE features an NMEA 2000 Micro-C port for engine data integration, autopilots, and other systems (LEN 1). A 5-pin Ethernet port enables connection to Simrad Broadband 3G™/4G™ and Halo™ Pulse Compression radars. Built-in Wi-Fi allows for online software updates and screen mirroring to mobile devices. It is also compatible with the SiriusXM Marine WM-3 module (for North America). The unit operates on 10–17V DC, with a typical power draw of 12W. Dimensions are 24.3 x 17 x 8.3 cm (without bracket) and it is rated IPX6 and IPX7. Internal storage is 90 MB, supplemented by two Micro SD slots supporting up to 32 GB each.
Market Positioning
The Simrad GO9 XSE, part of the GO series, positions itself as a versatile, accessible multifunction display. It differs from professional ranges like the Simrad NSS evo3S or B&G Zeus³S, which target racers and users requiring complex modular systems. The GO9 XSE offers an alternative for recreational boaters and anglers seeking an integrated, high-performance solution with an intuitive interface. Compared to competing products such as certain Garmin ECHOMAP UHD models, the GO9 XSE emphasizes ease of use and native integration of Navico’s Active Imaging technologies, targeting users prioritizing straightforward access to advanced sonar and navigation features.
