Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for vessels up to 9 meters (30 feet) equipped with a single outboard engine, the Simrad NAC-1 Outboard Pilot hydraulic pack with MKII Pump ensures precise and reliable autopilot operation. This complete system includes the NAC-1 autopilot computer, the reversible hydraulic pump PUMP-1 MKII (0.8 Lpm), a Point-1 AP sensor for heading and GPS, and the necessary Micro-C network components for installation. It is compatible with both hydraulic and cable steering systems.
Hydraulic Integration and Performance
The NAC-1 computer manages autopilot functions with a 12vDC power supply and a maximum drive output of 8A continuous (16A peak). The Micro-C network interface and NMEA 2000® compatibility via the Point-1 AP sensor allow integration with other navigation equipment. The PUMP-1 MKII is a reversible hydraulic gear pump rated at 0.8 Lpm, designed for quiet operation and improved efficiency. It is compatible with SeaStar manual tiller pumps up to 14ci.
Installation and Features
The Simrad NAC-1 Outboard Pilot pack is designed for simplified installation, including "Plug & Socket" connectors that eliminate the need for screw terminals or wire stripping. It includes a hydraulic fitting kit (3 x ORB-5 to 9/16 UNF fittings) and a "Standby-Auto" pushbutton mounted on the dashboard for quick activation. The system can maintain a heading, follow a route or waypoint, and execute automatic tacking and jibing patterns. It also allows the addition of a second helm station via MFD steering commands without requiring additional hydraulics or a wheel. The Point-1 AP sensor provides solid-state heading data including heading, rate of turn, pitch, and roll.
