Detailed description
Detailed description
The Simrad NSX 3007 Active Imaging is an intelligent chartplotter and fishfinder designed for modern navigation. It features a 7-inch SolarMAX™ IPS high-definition touchscreen with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels and brightness exceeding 1200 Nits. Viewing angles of 85° in all directions ensure clear visibility, even with polarized sunglasses and in bright sunlight.
Sonar and GPS Capabilities
This multifunction unit is equipped with an Active Imaging™ 3-in-1 transducer, providing high-resolution views of fish and underwater structures using CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan Imaging™ technologies. An integrated 1 kW fishfinder supports low, medium, and high CHIRP frequencies, enabling significant depth penetration. The unit is protected against reverse polarity and over/under-voltage. A 2A fuse is recommended on the positive power line. The FishReveal™ function combines CHIRP and DownScan Imaging views for easier target identification. For navigation, the NSX 3007 includes an internal 10 Hz GPS receiver compatible with WAAS, MSAS, EGNOS, and GLONASS, offering 3-meter horizontal accuracy and a 10 Hz refresh rate across 32 channels.
Connectivity and Data Management
The Simrad NSX 3007 is compatible with next-generation C-MAP® DISCOVER™ X and C-MAP REVEAL™ X marine charts (chart required). It offers extensive connectivity options including Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet, and a Micro-C NMEA 2000® port. It also supports NMEA 0183 with dedicated inputs/outputs (Talker A/B, Listener A/B) and IP video support. Data management includes storage for 6,000 waypoints, 500 routes (up to 100 points each), and 50 tracks (up to 12,000 track points).
Design and System Integration
With a 12 V DC power supply (10–17 V DC) and a maximum consumption of 11.5 W (830 mA at 13.8 V DC), its IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating, combined with an operating temperature range of -15°C to 55°C, ensures reliable use in diverse marine environments. Shock and vibration resistance is tested to 100,000 cycles at 20 G. Storage temperature range is -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). The intuitive user interface allows drag-and-drop customization, an editable instrument bar, and enhanced day/night modes. A setup assistant simplifies commissioning. Full integration with the Simrad® app enables route planning, track review, data synchronization, and streamlined software updates. The system also supports integration with Simrad® radars and autopilots, Mercury® engines (via SmartCraft® Connect), third-party applications, and allows sonar data sharing between NSX displays.
