The Simrad NSX 3009 Active Imaging is a multifunction chartplotter and fishfinder designed to provide an intuitive navigation experience and precise fish detection capabilities. Featuring a modern operating system and a high-definition touchscreen, this unit is intended for full integration on various types of vessels.
Screen and intuitive interface
The NSX 3009 is equipped with a 9-inch SolarMAX™ IPS HD touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Its brightness exceeding 1200 nits and viewing angles of 85° (top, bottom, left, right) ensure clear visibility, even in bright sunlight or through polarized lenses. The user interface features an intuitive system with customizable screens via drag-and-drop and an editable instrument bar, simplifying access to essential functions. An integrated setup assistant guides the user during initial commissioning and sonar configuration.
Advanced Active Imaging sonar
This multifunction unit supports Active Imaging™ technology, including CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan Imaging™ features. It is compatible with Active Imaging™ 3-in-1 sonar transducers and can handle transducers up to 1 kW for deeper detection. The FishReveal™ function is integrated for quick fish identification. Sonar data can be shared between multiple displays, enabling centralized monitoring.
Navigation and C-MAP X cartography
The NSX 3009 is compatible with C-MAP® DISCOVER™ X and REVEAL™ X charts, offering up-to-date map presentations and daily updates. It features an internal 10Hz GPS receiver with WAAS, MSAS, EGNOS, and GLONASS corrections, ensuring 3-meter horizontal accuracy. The autorouting function is optimized for rapid route planning. Integration with the Simrad® app allows route planning, track review, and waypoint transfer.
Connectivity and system integration
For system integration, the NSX 3009 includes an Ethernet port (5-pin connector), an NMEA 2000® Micro-C port (1 LEN), and wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0. It also features a MicroSD slot and a USB port for external drives. IP camera video support is integrated. The system ensures seamless integration with Simrad® sonars, radars (including HALO® radars), and autopilots, as well as third-party systems such as Mercury® engines (SmartCraft® Connect and VesselView®), OmniSense cameras, Dometic climate systems, and Lumishore LED lighting.
Robust design and environment
The Simrad NSX 3009 has dimensions of 239.0 mm (W) x 148.5 mm (H) x 80.6 mm (D) without bracket or sunshade, and weighs 1.2 kg. It is designed for bracket, flush, or panel mounting. Its robustness is attested by an IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating, as well as shock and vibration resistance of 100,000 cycles at 20 G. It operates within a temperature range of -15°C to +55°C and is powered by 12 V DC (10-17 V DC), with a maximum power consumption of 18.8 W and a recommended fuse of 3 A.
