The Simrad NSX 3012UW chartplotter/depth sounder is a 12-inch ultrawide marine display designed for an immersive and comprehensive navigation experience. Combining chartplotter and depth sounder functions, it offers extended integration capabilities for centralized boat system management. This multifunction display (MFD) is a single solution for users seeking both performance and simplicity.
Display and user interface
The unit features a 12-inch SolarMAX™ IPS HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels. The screen brightness exceeds 1000 nits, and it offers viewing angles of 85° from the top, bottom, left, and right. The user interface is streamlined, featuring an intuitive activity bar for quick application switching and a customizable instrument panel, reducing menu navigation time.
Depth sounder and GPS
The Simrad NSX 3012UW includes an integrated 1 kW depth sounder and a 1 kW 9-pin Xsonic depth sounder port. It is compatible with the Active Imaging™ 3-in-1 transducer, providing CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan Imaging™ capabilities. It supports single-channel CHIRP at 50/200 kHz and HDI. An internal 10Hz GPS receiver ensures fast and efficient position locking. The depth sounder sharing function is also available between multiple NSX units.
Charting and navigation
This chartplotter is optimized for C-MAP® DISCOVER™ X and REVEAL™ X charts. It ships with a Discover X chart for North America. C-MAP Discover X charts provide detailed information such as tides, currents, marina plans, and 12 months of free updates, along with easy routing without a subscription. High-resolution bathymetric layers and custom shading enhance navigation. C-Map Reveal X charts, available as an option, add satellite imagery and shaded relief for 3D bottom views. The system offers a fast auto-routing function, capable of calculating routes up to three times faster than previous models.
Connectivity and system integration
The NSX 3012UW provides connectivity options including Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, a 5-pin Ethernet port, a Micro-C NMEA 2000 port, a USB port, and a MicroSD slot. It supports IP cameras. It integrates fully with 3G, 4G, and HALO® radars, as well as NAC-1, NAC-2, NAC-3, and NAC-D autopilots. Integration with the Simrad® app allows waypoint management and offline route planning.
Engine and onboard control
The display enables control of onboard technologies, including integration with Mercury® engines (SmartCraft® Connect) and other brands such as Honda and Suzuki. It also supports CZone® digital switching, RGBW lighting, IP cameras, and audio systems.

The unit operates on a 12 V DC power supply (10–17 V DC min–max) with a maximum power consumption of 19.8 W and a recommended 3A fuse. Without a mount or sunshade, its dimensions are 337.0 mm (13.30") wide x 147.9 mm (5.82") high x 88.5 mm (3.48") deep, weighing 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). It has an IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof rating.
