Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for yachts from 17 to 24 meters (55-78 feet), the Sleipner SE210/250TC electric bow thruster provides precise maneuverability and a thrust power of 210 kg at 21VDC, reaching 250 kg at 24VDC. Operating at 24VDC, it features a twin counter-rotating propeller propulsion system in a 250 mm diameter tunnel. Its power output is 10 kW (13.2 hp) at 21V. It requires a minimum battery capacity of 1330 CCA SAE and a recommended fuse of 500 Amp (SMANL500). Its dimensions are approximately 427 mm in height, 285 mm in length, and 258 mm in width, with a minimum depth above the tunnel top of 188 mm.
Advanced Propulsion Technologies
The SE210/250TC is equipped with Q-PROP™ technology, using five-blade skewed propellers that reduce noise levels by 20 to 40% in real-world conditions, and up to 75% in controlled tests, while maintaining or improving thrust efficiency. Sleipner’s patented Intelligent Power Control (IPC) system minimizes delay between direction changes, protects mechanical components, and monitors solenoids to prevent jamming, enhancing reliability and safety.
Robust Design and Flexible Installation
The thruster design includes overheat protection with an automatic shutdown mechanism to preserve the electric motor. The gear housing is pre-filled with a lifetime lubricant and sealed with durable ceramic and carbon mechanical seals, ensuring water intrusion protection without requiring oil changes. The galvanic separation of immersed parts protects against corrosion. The compact design and the ability to rotate the electric motor 90 degrees on its mount facilitate installation in various vessel layouts. The "Plug and Go" wiring simplifies electrical connection. Maintenance is eased by accessible battery cable terminals, a secure propeller assembly with a locking nut, and easily replaceable zinc anodes. This thruster can be used both at the bow and stern.
