Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for vessels from 18 to 25 meters, the electric bow or stern thruster Sleipner SE250/300TC provides precise maneuverability. This system is powered by 24V DC and delivers 11.4 kW (15.5 hp), generating a thrust of 300 kg at 24V and 250 kg at 21V. Its internal tunnel diameter is 300 mm, with a recommended tunnel length of 333 mm and a minimum wall thickness of 10 mm. Its weight is 70 kg.
Detailed technical specifications
The SE250/300TC has a nominal current draw of 610–670A. It requires a battery with a minimum CCA of 700 (DIN), 1330 (SAE), or 1170 (EN). Operational runtime is limited to a 2–3 minute cycle at an ambient temperature of 20°C. The thruster dimensions are: height (H) 490 mm, length (L) 274 mm, and width (W) 337 mm. This model features dual contra-rotating propellers, optimizing thrust within a minimal tunnel diameter. Its Q-PROP™ five-blade skewed propellers reduce noise levels by 20–40% in real-world installations while maintaining thrust performance.
Features and safety
The system integrates Sleipner’s Intelligent Power Control (IPC), a patented technology that minimizes delay between direction changes and monitors solenoids to reduce mechanical wear. In the event of a solenoid lockup, the thruster automatically stops. Overheat protection detects high internal temperatures and shuts down the system before damage occurs. Galvanic isolation electrically separates the immersed components from the vessel’s electrical system, preventing corrosion. Installation is flexible, allowing the thruster to be mounted at any angle and the electric motor to be rotated 90 degrees. A flexible coupling protects the transmission by compensating for misalignments. The gearbox is lifetime-lubricated and sealed with a ceramic/carbon mechanical seal. "Plug & Play" analog connectors, color-coded, simplify wiring. Safety features include electronic delay for direction changes and automatic shutdown of control panels after 6 minutes of inactivity.
